DOS text file size
« on: April 01, 2004, 07:07:05 PM »
Hi,
Here's my dilemma and I certainly hope someone can help me with this.
One of my students created a text file using the Edit command. He added text to the file which was ONLY 5 characters.
When he went to view the directory contents of the drive, the file size was reported as 7 (remember this is a text file and there were ONLY 5 characters). Why was that?
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

2 spaces at the end of the characters or elsewhere on the page?
