« on: July 14, 2006, 11:04:10 PM »
I have a very simple question. Can you copy info from a older Hard Disk Drive to another Hard Disk Drive.

Because im thinking of buying a new HDD and need to know if I will be able to put info from old 40Gig. to new 250gig. (I think thats how big it is)  :-? :-? :-?

Yes.

You still have to install the operating system on the new hard drive.  Simply copying the Windows or Winnt folder from the old hard drive will not give you a working operating system, in most cases.

Also, make sure you have not encrypted or marked the files as private on the old hard drive before you copy them to the new one, or you will not be able to access those encrypted files in the new operating system.
