if i have windows xp media center edition 2005 on my computer why cant i install windows xp home edition. do i have to install a previous version first or what. thanks

Oldest version should be installed first as a rule. If you are trying to install 2 versions on the same partition, that is never a good idea.

What are you trying to do?
