Help with problems I have with my comp
« on: July 18, 2006, 09:40:15 AM »
I'm hoping I can get some assistance.

Just now I have a Compaq Presario running Windows ME.

When trying to get pics from my digicam to the pc, I get error messages telling me that some driver files cant be located.

Unfortunately the disk that came with the camera has been lost, so I tried plugging in a mass storage device card reader instead but the same error message came up.

The driver file which was missing was named so I downloaded this file but it still wont work.

I am gettin the yellow exclamation mark beside the mass storage device heading in the system folder.

It has something to do with the USB part of the drivers.  USBCSTM I think it said it was missing.  (although I cant be sure)

When the camera/card reader is connected via USB, thats when the error occurs.

Anyone help me here?

Thanks

homer

do other USB items work? (such as mp3 player, external hardrive, etc.).
