No standby or hibernate option this computer
« on: July 19, 2006, 08:18:56 PM »
I have two computers running XP Pro. One has power option properties which includes system stanby and system hibernate, the other does not.

How can I get these option on the second computer?

I am trying the option to turn hard drive off after 10 minutes, but I dont think that is the same as standby.

We know nothing about the computers. See below.

Is the "Standby" button doesn't exist at all or exist but shaded?
Have you installed the proper driver for the graphic card?

Possibly not just related to your graphics card.  You need ACPI switched on in your BIOS and installed properly on XP, together will the correct drivers for all ACPI-linked hardware (graphics, network, etc.)  Check your BIOS settings first.
Only able to visit the forums sporadically, sorry.
