no audio
« on: July 27, 2006, 12:19:06 PM »
Since I reinstalled Windows 98 over the old install, I have no audio at all. When I go the control panel and try to select Audio HQ, I get nothing. Nothing happens. Same with volume control in acessories. Does this mean something is missing or just switched off?

Have you looked in Device Manager to see if your sound card is there?

Do you know the brand of the sound card that is in there?

Do you have the CD that came with it?

Is it built in on the motherboard or is it in an expansion slot?

Thanks. Wrote in another subject line just a bit ago. Problem solved. I found an "unknown device" which wasn't there the first 5 or 6 times I looked at the file. Installed it and now everything is fine there.

That's why you need to let it install everything it wants with those SB cards. After the joystick installation was the part that you needed to solve the puzzle.

I don't think I did not let it install everything when I did the install.
