Ok, well this is my first computer ive made before. I have everything hooked up to the right place and turn it on and i get 2 beeps really close together and then 6 short beeps right after and then nothing. The motherboard I am using is this http://usa.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=12&l3=31&model=179&modelmenu=1 it has no moniter slot so i used a pci vid card that has worked for me in the past and get nothing. i also tried a agp vid card and still get nothing. so what do i do???

Here is some general information. Those beep codes are diagnostic:

Check on the ASUS site for their specific beep codes if this does not help you pinpoint the problem.  ;)

If you don't know what to do, and have never done this before, then it may be time to go to the shop. Don't feel bad. Sometimes you have to pay for knowledge and experience.

A misbuild is the most common problem.
