USB 2.5 Hard Drive not shown in windows explorer
    « on: July 28, 2006, 05:49:04 AM »
In the past windows explorer is able to show the usb 2.5 hard drive at drive E.

Now windows does not show usb 2.5 hard drive but the "safely remove hardware" can be seen at the task bar.

At one time the usb 2.5 hard drive as one of the C drive.

Have updated the usb driver and the usb device is now listed in the device manager's ide ata/atapi controllers

Any conflicts in Device Manager? Is it shown there?

There is no conflict on the device manager screen.
        Have uninstall the manufacturer's driver.
Now the usb 2.5 hard drive is listed as one of the c drive but cannot be opened for saving files / docs into it.
The properties shows location o (same as the ide c drive).

I have sbsolutely no idea what this means. You need to post a LOT of details about the system for help. A USB drive is not C when there is an internal primary hard drive installed unless you have really FUBAR'ed things.
