I just ran Ad-aware, the first time in 10 days, and it found 20 "Critcal items", which are all tracking cookies.  That's about as bad as it ever gets for me.  Does that warrant a vote?

for my laptop it's usually malware... people send them to me through email.. I open them  ;D

On my desktop I don't get any sort of things though. Using IE and XP sp1.

I never get crapware. My wife's computer.....alas! Thankfully, I have denied her access to everything except the internet. Giving her access to other networked resources would be diastrous. ;D

Why do you not have SP2 installed?  It is significantly more secure than SP1.

"... when was the last time he did any scans ..."   What does that have to do with SP2?
