DVD-RW Drive not reading audio CDs

I downloaded the program Alcohol 120%, to burn CD images, and during the set up it created a virtual DVD/CD drive. However now the physical drive has stopped reading CD-ROMs, audio CDs or CD-Rs, but still reads DVDs. Any idea what might have caused the DVD drive to stop reading CDs? - It worked fine before.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sometimes you can run into problems with esoteric software like this. Did you check their web site or on their forums for others with similar issues?

No, I have to say I haven't looked just yet, but I think I'm headed there now
