IE is grouped with Windows Explorer in XP
« on: August 10, 2006, 02:19:36 AM »
Hi,
I have this wired problem. I am using Windows XP SP2 with latest updates. I have enabled "Group similar taskbar buttons" from Taskbar properties. Earlier I used to have Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer in different Groups in Taskbar. But, all of a sudden (I dont remember what exactly have I changed), IE and windows explorer come under the same group in the taskbar. Please suggest me how do I get back the original behavior.

thanks,
-manirup

Try this simple technique.  Disable "Group similar taskbar buttons" and verify that Windows behavior has changed accordingly.  Then re-enable "Group similar taskbar buttons".
