Why does internet explorer close

[glb][/glb]When i go into certain websites like a chat room or to edit my website with yahoo page builder internet explorer closes. It seems to be anything to do with a chat room thats whats making it close all the time but how can i fix it, i tried downloading Mozilla Firefox but i still have the problem. i have a new virus protecter and it hasnt picked up anything could you please help me a.s.a.p by the way i an using windows xp pro

i am 100% sure they are not supose to close,  when ever i go to a site with a chat room etc it closes everything that has to d owith the internet please help

You 'tried' downloading Mozilla Firefox? Firefox is a stand alone browser, it should function different from Internet Explorer.

Did you try setting both browsers to their default settings?

Scan for spyware as well.
