Sound is barely heard, Win 98, New card

I installed a new sound card, disabled the onboard one in my bios,   I've tried all adjustments and nothing works.   :-?  Can anyone help me to figure this out?  I have sound, but it really low.

Well with the lack of information you provided you should probably check in Control Panel/Sounds and Multimedia and look around. Also make sure your speakers are plugged into the correct port.

If you want to post more info we can proceed further if this does not get it.

I have a Ernest Home Report on the system and the sound and I've check everything.  Is there a utility for diagnostics to do a system check for integrated audio. :-?

I've plugged several sets of speakers in ALL the ports and I get just a whisper; they all work on another computer though :-/

Try installing the sound card in another slot...and double-check that you in fact do have the onboard audio dis-abled.

I have a Fealing that you have either not installed the Correct Drivers, or the one you Installed , simply dont work

your New Sound card is a "Aureal - Vortex"?
