mice having trouble
« on: September 12, 2004, 07:52:31 PM »
I have two mice for my laptop, and neither of them work correctly. One is a microsoft two button serial mouse, the other is a generic brand (Honli) optical 3D PS/2 mouse.
Both mice have the same problem: They only work in the x-axis. The cursor will not move up or down.
I've tried updating my drivers, but WindowsXP says I already have the best drivers, and updating them manually didn't work, either.
At the moment I'm getting away with using the laptop's built-in toggle...
If anyone has any suggestions, they'd be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Gordon

can you have a look in the device manager...click the + sign for the mouse icon then click the ps2 compatable  mouse port  icon....properties...resources...and see if the box is ticked for  use automatic settings...
