Hyperlink not working properly

I have a web-based presentation with hyperlinks to files on my PC such as ppt, mov, exe, etc.
Previously, as I click on the hyperlinks, it will just open the target files as it should be.
When I come back to the presentation recently after leaving it aside for some time, the hyperlinks are not working properly anymore - it will prompt me to save the target files.

Example 1: when I click on a link to a ppt file, a window pop up prompts me to "Enter name of file to save to.." and it'll just save the file and not open it.

Example 2: when I click on a link to a exe file, it prompts me whether to open the file or save it like when we download something, but in this case, only the save option is active.

Example 3: when I click on a link to a html file in a powerpoint, a dialogue read "Some hyperlinks may contain viruses or otherwise be harmful to your computer. It is important to be certain that this hyperlink is from a  trustworthy source. Do you want to open this hyperlink?"

I guess there are some setting problems for hyperlinks?
I don't remember changing any setting recently.

Sounds like this is a security change made by a recent Windows update.  You may wish to leave things as there are, or remove the recent Windows updates.

I didn't have any Windows Update installed recently.
I think more likely it's the problem with the browser, just don't know which setting it is about.
I'm on Win XP SP2 Firefox 1.5.0.6

I've just tried and it works fine with IE.
So it's the problem with Firefox.

Because the target files are on my computer.

And the files are too large to be attached even after compression.
This guy always think people are stupid and he's the saviour!
Never read properly and has no common sense and think he knows all.

Hmm...  I'm sorry you feel that way.  Perhaps you have not seen enough of my posts to form a balanced opinion?  Or maybe something is being lost in the translation - I detect that perhaps your native language is not English?

Is there a chance that you can publish this site to a web server?  It would really make it much easier to diagnose.

Incidentally, no offence intended.  Generally, we get a lot of posts from people having problems with their websites, and they so rarely provide links to the websites until asked.  I guess sometimes it's because they think we're going to criticise them?  Which doesn't happen unless people specifically ask for criticism.  So my "under the breath" comment wasn't directed at you specifically.
