I'm just wondering how long do you guys think windows was in development before gates released the every first version?

Apparantly they were bug testing it a few hours before its release... could just be a rumour though. You couldn't have overlapping Windows either.

Open up two notepad windows. Move one window over another window. You couldn't do that in the first one.
