Upgrading an OS Question
« on: September 12, 2006, 06:27:35 PM »
When you choose to Upgrade an OS, can you keep all the files on your OS? I know it's not recommended to upgrade, and you should format first, but I just installed like 50 programs on Windows 2000 and I don't feel like doing it again. Basically what I'm asking is can I just upgrade the OS and leave the programs alone?

Yes, you can, althougth doing a clean install always gives the cleanest Windows installation.  Here's an article worth reading: Upgrading to Windows XP

Unless you have a specific reason for needing to upgrade, I would consider just sticking with 2000 ::)
