dead cmos battery
« on: September 11, 2006, 04:30:53 PM »
I have a computer which indicated the cmos battery was low.  I relplaced the battery with a new one and adjusted the date and time in the bios.  It worked fine for a couple of days but then the low battery appeared again at start up.  I double checked to make sure the battery was not lose.  I once again readjusted the date and time and now it's been working for a few days.  I hate when things break down and then refused be stay broken!  It make it hard to know if it's fixed or not.
Any sugestions?
Thanks,
Reddog

There may be a short that is causing the battery drain as well. See if the new battery fixes it.....
