I think this is a good computer to start. Considering the price it is good. Plus it comes with a monitor, and printer. Upgrading the video card later will make it better. ;D

ATI Xpress 200 integrated graphics with up to 256MB shared memory

Integrated graphics cards are notorious for being slow! But the good thing is you can just buy a graphics card and put it in. So you could try it with the integrated card, see if it's too slow, then just buy a new graphics card if required. Not sure about American dollars, but I'd expceted you'd need to pay at least $200 for a decent card.

add another $1000 to your budget and then you will have a good gaming comp.

my comp was $2000.

Make sure you get a computer that can support dual-graphics cards. Then you an buy a card, then later you can upgrade by buying another card to use in conjunction with your present card, without "wasting" the money you spent on your first one, if you get my meaning.

It would be better for him to just buy one extremly high end card (which almost all support SLI) and then continue by upgrading his motherboard, cpu's etc. But its definitly cheaper to buy it all at once.

An awsome site is www.cyberpowerpc.com. I have purchased 3 computers from them for myself and people i work for.

Just a heads up though, 64 bit system is fine... its the dual processors that cuase problems some times. =p

Yes it would be better for everyone to just buy the best components right at the start - but who is going to pay for it? :P

Where are the specifications on that website, I can't seem to find them in less than 3 seconds which means I wouldn't buy from them even if the world was on fire. Which it is, so that's why I'm not buying from 'm.

A bit true, although you can't get the fancy cases anywhere else.

Why don't you just buy the cheapest alien ware, clear out the stuff and put your own components in the case? If you're really that desperate about it.

isn't it's easier... to buy an ok computer... like i know that there are pretty good computers for 300$ and then it will be easy to upgrade it... kuz u'll have 700$... dude u could get a heck of a graphics card and the rest of the stuff and it would cost u much cheaper then 1000$ well unless u would like to get  a heck of stuff for everything.. then yea... that will be very expansive... ain't canadian bux.. cost less then US dollar???? just asking...well i have an ok computer... well u could say a really bad one... kind of got it for free... well i got it for free... and it has only 800mhz and about 30gb total space... well that's enough for since i don't really have big games on my computer. well soon i will have 350$ or smth around that.. and will buy a good RAM and video card too... which is apperently not bad for gaming... well exept the 800mhz part... lol... but as i remmeber i think that's the minimum for a game... ok... just do what u need.. or wait for more answers from others...
This message might sound a bit confusing... it's just kuz i am not US citizen... and i am not a comunist or smth like that... i am russian... lol... ;D
