missing .dll file

Hi,

When i start up my XP, it is missing a sock.dll file, so it hangs at startup, when i do a search, can't find this file anywhere.  The original location is inside the "Temp Programs" directory, so i think this is a previous program that i deleted, how can i remove this file from my startup?

Do you have  problems getting on the net? is this dll file called Winsock? re-boot pc and hit the f8 key and chose the last good fig...it saves messing  about with extracting ..cab..files..
