    thunderbird-- delete the forwarding addresses
    « on: September 25, 2006, 11:33:46 AM »
ok I'm trying to get my grandma to switch to thunderbird, but i cant figure out how to remove the forwarded adresses on the email she gets. cuz when she sends email to her friends she likes to remove the forwarding adresses for some reason. im sure this is kinda hard to understand so ill get a pic of it when i can.

    TIA

How are you going to forward a message if you remove the adress?

no i mean remove the ones that were already there. so it seems like you sent it and didnt forwarded it.

Do the "forwarded adresses" appear in the body of the email message when you select a message to be forwarded to someone else?  If so, can you simply highlight them and delete them?

        I see what you mean.

What if you just use the "Reply" function and then fill out the adresses you want to send the E-mail to?

Teach Grandma to cut and paste...she will then be sending the cleanest e-mails out there...

Actually i open messages and see 35 forwards at the top i delete them immediately....

I think it's lazy and rude to forward all that crap !

          But that's just me...

Just use the reply function, remove the original adress and add the adresses you want.

It can't get much simpler than that.

The forwarded headers aren't stripped by any mainstream email client that I know of.  They are simply not displayed by all email clients.

To forward a message free of those identifying headers, simply compose a new message, and cut and paste the message from old to new.

Or, simply highlight them and delete them.  Does this technique not work in Thunderbird?  Works in OE.
