Merlin Webster Dictionary doesent show Adware...
Oh well... free opensource dictionaries are best on keeping up on computer terms
By Merlin Webster Dictionary, are you referring to a print dictionary?  They would, of course, lag behind online dictionaries.  Malware is also listed at http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/malware

Yep. No greyware, though. Has anyone found a dictionary that lists greyware?

Quote
According to Trend Micro, the only company in the industry known to use the term, greyware refers to applications or files that are not classified as viruses or Trojan horse programs, but can still negatively affect the performance of the computers on your network and introduce significant security risks to your organization. Often greyware performs a variety of undesired and threatening actions such as irritating users with pop-up windows, logging user key strokes, and exposing computer vulnerabilities to attack.

This can be added as a FireFox search engine...

I don't consider wiki to be a legitimate Encyclopedia nor a dictionary source...

But hey, that's just me...

Patio's right.

Maybe we should get Ceasar to build us a poll on this subject?

There was really no topic. Just a vague question from a person who didn't even explain his computer setup or situation and who needs to visit a public library pronto.

Come on, people we don't even know model VAIO this person has as he has posted little useful information.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

It may be one with a proprietary power supply, as many of them have, and more importantly it sounds like it is well beyond his scope.

Syborg, take it to a shop so you don't electrocute yourself.
