I had exactly the same problem during a recent restore of my T3265. The "freezing" on the "Computer name" screen was directly related to my oem modem not being installed. Following are the detailed step by step directions to overcome the issue and complete your restore process.
In regards to your concern regarding the restoration process on your T3265 eMachines computer, you may follow the instructions below.
This issue could also occur in any of the following conditions:
1. The modem driver does not match the modem hardware.
2. A third-party modem is installed.
3. Multiple modems are installed.
4. No modem is actually installed.
5. The modem is broken.
The only way to resolve this issue is to bypass the eMachines Windows XP OOBE.
Try this:
1. Restart the computer and begin tapping the F8 key The Windows Advanced Options menu appears.
2. Use the arrow keys to highlight Enable VGA Mode
3. Press Enter to select Enable VGA Mode
4. Press Enter again to boot Windows XP
A message box will appear in the center of the screen that says, "To improve the appearance of visual elements, Windows will automatically adjust your screen resolution."
5. Click on OK
Another message box will appear in the center of the screen that says,
Windows adjusted your screen resolution. If you can read this text click OK to continue."
6. Click on Cancel
A new window appears called,
Windows XP Home Edition Setup
to guide them through an alternative to the
eMachines Windows XP OOBE.
