« on: September 20, 2004, 11:55:59 AM »
i was opening a prog when my computer froze... i had to restart it (i'm using windows 98 second edition btw), my display had been changed to 16 colors and my mouse cursor was gone... i tried to reset my display by using my keyboard, but it will not work... all i want back is my mouse cursor, if someone knows how to do this, please let me know as soon as you can.. thanks

I'd say you would have to reinstall both videocard and mouse drivers.

I am certain the videocard drivers will resolve your resolution and colour problem. However, I am not too certain if reinstalling mouse drivers will help fix the mouse problem.

What scanners have you used? What program were you opening?

I heard many bad things about AOL... You may wish to switch providers if that is possible.

As for reinstalling mouse or videocard drivers. Not very hard, but having a mouse to install either of them does make life easier. For a moment. You may manage by using only the keyboard, though.

Did you see if safe-mode works? Perhaps you are able to use your mouse there.
