    Proper Temperatures
    « on: October 20, 2006, 11:08:42 PM »
I'm wondering if my temps are too high. My pc has shut off on me twice now, once while playing a game. It's a new rig, just built it:
    Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
AMD Dual Core Athlon 64X2 4800+
    1.25 GB Ram
    XFX Geforce 7600GT 256MB

    MB Temp: 35C (95F)
    CPU Temp: 39C (102F)
    GPU Temp: 44C (111F)
    HDD Temp: 41C (106F)

*After running Need For Speed Most Wanted at the highest settings for about 3 minutes my GPU temp was 133F

    Thanks for advice!

You either didn't properly apply the thermal paste or you didn't correctly attach the heatsink and fan.

Or the general set up of your case is just a mess. More information needed..

Wait, you saidFahrenheit. How much Celsius would that make?

If your PC is shutting down, it may be a temperature problem, but it could also be an inadequate PSU.

Those temps sound OK to me.
Here you go Raptor, it's a stand alone .exe file.
I placed mine in it's own directory, created a shortcut on the desktop & dragged it into my taskbar.

PSU is a 450 watt XG Vigor power supply that is 8 months old. Is it possible I need more power than 450?

No it's not, those are decent temperatures for modern day CPU's and GPU's. For the hardware mentioned there, it is quite cool.

            How's the northbridge temperature?

What is its true power? And how much did you pay for it?
