    « on: October 20, 2006, 06:59:08 PM »
I have xoftspy the free version  and I ran the scan and it came up with two reg alerts  one was kazaa lite and one was exploit child watch dog. I have ewidow, ccleaner ,spybot and  windows defender and I am also running McAfee anti virus and none of these programs have managed to clean this problem up. I tried to track it through regedit (have done this befor) and delete it out but cant seem to find them. any help would be appriciated. thanks oh yes I have a dell deminson 2350  running windows xp

Do you have these programs loaded? Have they ever been loaded on this machine? Are you the only user of the computer? If not, who else has access?

I would load on some other protection, at least Spybot, and check in safe mode with system restore turned off:

xoftspy has a tarnished reputation for giving false positives.
        Do you have Version 4.0?

Try tapping the F8 key a few times instead of the F12 key a million times.
You'll get better results and it's a lot less stressful on the fingertips.  8-)

They say the problems were fixed with Version 4.0 but I have no trust in xoftspy at all.

Well I downloaded and ran spysweeper and I have previously run windows defender, spybot sd and ewidow along with ccleaner and adaware also ran virus scan and they found nothing so maybe xoftspy is no good. I uninstalled it so we will see. Thanks a bunch for all your help guys.
