    in school many programs and features such as control panel and being able to install new programs are blocked off.
    you get a message about the adminstrator stopping this.

    is it possible for me to do it at home i have win xp sp2.

    Yes, you can download and access system features on your home pc provided you have admin privileges to do so.

      i think you have misunderstood i want to put these controls on i want to limit the other users proiveliges how do i do this.

      Oops - sorry.

      Start here.. and search the I'net for lots more info..

      This presumes you already have admin privileges on your home pc..

      You didn't say whether it was Home or Pro.  If the latter, go Start-->Run: gpedit.msc [ENTER].  You'll be amazed at all the things you can lock down.  Use Google to find out more about Group Policies.  ;)
