Computer-Moniter Issues
« on: November 04, 2006, 05:49:27 PM »
Hi.  I bought a new moniter with a DVI and VGA jack for my computer.

Previously I was using an old moniter with an old VGA jack and just used that.  I had a VGA-DVI Splitter on the base of my tower and everything worked fine.  When I attempted connecting the new moniter with the same VGA setup, I received no picture.  I tried to connect the old moniter back up and now don't receive anything.  I don't even hear the windows music boot up when the computer is turned on.

Asus P4GX
Intel P4 2.8
80gb 7200
512mb 400mhz

The old moniter was a Sumsung 955DF and the new moniter is a Gateway LCD.

Any ideas?  I tried just using a regular DVI cord now but my system doesn't even seem to be working correctly.  I just hear the fan turn on and no lights from the mouse or anything.

Thanks!

Does the computer POST?  Lights & 1 beep / any beeps - lights?

Disconnect power to everything/ let set for a :15 /  reconnect & restart with old monitor
