i just bought a dell inspiron b130 to replace my dell desktop. now i want to replace the hard drive in the desk top and let my kids use it for learning software/gaming. was going to get the 80g hard drive at w-mart. if i can not locate my original copy of windows xp, can i use the copy that came with my new laptop? will this cause me problems down the road.? any comments appreciated.
  thanks, tommy :-?

Bill Gates requires one copy of Windows per machine. If you use it on one machine while it has beeen activated on another, you may find both are inoperable and you have to call Microsoft personally to explain.

Just go buy another copy so you are legal. It will cause you much less grief. (That's why they designed it that way.)
