    Jumpers on a Sata Optical Drives

    Hi.. I recently bought a plextor dvdrw optical drive and after i install it and go into windows and try to burn a dvd.. by using nero 6.6 my computer hangs up the process stays to 1 percent and i was wondering why.. when i read the owners manual for the drive it said that for a faster computer put a jumper i was wondering why do you need the jumpers.. So What are the jumpers there for and what ar the puropose.. please explain.. thanks.

    I have no clue.  "... owners manual for the drive it said that for a faster computer put a jumper ..." sounds odd.  You might visit http://www.plextor.com/english/support/support.html and browse around.  You might also see whether they have a firmware upgrade for your drive.
