Viva 280GB HD

H i All,
         I have a Viva 280 GB HD that has a boot failure come us. I wont show up as a drive anymore. Any Ideas?

Sounds like a bad hard drive. You can download and run SeaTools, free at www.seagate.com to check the staus of the hardware.

What happened prior to this? History is important.

As you know its plug n play. One day it decided to not plug and play. It did it after i did a defrag

You never did answer this. Also, is this an internal or external drive?

What happened with this? How old is the  drive? Is it still under waranty?
