connecting laptop to TV
« on: November 20, 2006, 03:10:55 PM »
I bought an s-video cable to connect my laptop to my TV. I can see everything properly until I try to watch a DVD. When it starts to play it I can see everything on the laptop screen but on the TV the part of the screen where the movie is supposed to be is black. I can still see the play, pause, stop, rewind buttons. The laptop is HP pavilion and the video card is ATI Radeon IGP 64 MB. I am using 1024X768X32 60 hz or 800X600X32 60 hz. The TV is an Sony Trinitron. I also got the same thing on a Sharp TV

All of my stuff does the same thing.  I figure it is part of some sort of copyright infringement law.  I guess they figure if we did that with a DVD, we would record it.

Maybe...

Check Radeon's control panel for TV out settings...
