Can't hook up computer to another printer

I am trying to hook up my computer to a photo printer in another room in the house.  I have downloaded the driver for the HP Photosmart 7760 successfully and it will not allow me to use the other printer from my computer.  I download video's into a softward program and want to print them on photo paper and my printer will not provide the quality of the photo printer.

From what I understant which isn't much at this point in time I am hooked up to the other computer in the house by a modem and a router which would make me think that my computer can be hooked up to the other printer.  Thanks, I'm just learning

    mattie......  So you have 2 computers and 1 printer ......... and the 2 machines connect to the internet via a router/modem .
    You haven't mentioned what operating system your using on the machines or if you have set them up to file share and use a shared printer .
