Reformatting problems
« on: December 01, 2006, 07:30:22 AM »
I rcently reformatted my computer and had driver issues. I downloaded the drivers and installed them, but I noticed that my computer is not reading all of the memory that I know is in my computer. Before I reformatted I had 512MB in memory. It's saying now I only have 33.4GB and that my C drive is almost full. Please help.

Is there anything on the HD right now? If not, run FDISK and delete the partition. Then recreate it. Reformat your computer and tell me if that did anything.

No, theres nothing on the HD. But I do not know how to run FDISK and delete/recreate a partition. I used my windows XP disc to reformat/install windows XP.

I believe you are confusing memory with storage space...the 33.4G being reported is how much free space you have on that HDD.

To confirm this open My Computer and right click on C: and select properties and report back what it says.
