batch files vs windows script host

can i think .wsh files as the new replacement of .bat files in windows? which is more proper to automate the commands or to create commands without user interaction?

thank you but my problem about computer stuff is what is for what. i know about windows script host and batch files but i dont know why these coexist. there are a lot of repeatition in software world is not it?
