Gmail
« on: December 09, 2006, 10:05:26 AM »
Hi everyone.
My understanding is that you need an invite to get a Gmail address, is this correct?
If so, does anyone have an invite for me please?
I need a new email address as this Hotmail account is getting flooded with spam, and I've heard that Gmail is good.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can invite me or point me in the right direction.

I've got 50 invites, I'll be happy to send you one. ;D Yes, Gmail is good. It's fast and I've yet to get spam in it.

    EDIT: Message is away.

Wow, that was incredibly easy to set up.
    So much easier than Hotmail.
Now I can abandon it forever! (Well, soon).
Thanks once again, you are my saviour.

What's the attraction in having a gmail account?
Am I missing out on something?

Well, AFAIK there's no junk mail, and it loads faster than other Email accounts I have. Other than that, it's really not that different. *shrug*

I have a Gmail account that I have never publicised and hardly ever use.  The spam folder is bulging...

@patio - I'm not using Thunderbird at the minute, but I've heard it's alos good.
Do you think I shoudl try it out?
At the minute I use Firefox to access my Gmail account.

If the alternative to Thundebird is Outlook Express, you should definitely give Thunderbird a try.
