Music downloads..what to do?

Happy Holidays all,
This is my first, but I am sure, not last post.
My daughter just got an Ipod and with all the music she downloads, my space is getting eatin up.
I have a dell dimension XPS T500 with windows XP desktop
640 MB ram
I think there is something I can buy where she can plug it into the back of my computer and she can keep all the info there, and not use my space, but I don't know what it's called or how much it would be.
I think it's something like a small storage space.
Do I have any idea what I'm talking about?
Can anyone help me?

I think that your thinking of a external hard drive ......... They plug into a USB plug ...... and will certainly hold a large amount of music .
Prices vary ........ from perhaps 90.00 US and up .......  There may be some boxing day sales ...........
