Microphone recording buzz sound issue

Hi.

I searched the forums and couldn't find my question answered so I made this thread. I have a problem with my microphone's sound recording. At times, almost always, a loud buzz noise is heard in the background. It's so loud the actual recording can barley be heard. Still though - it's not there at all times.

I'm not sure wether this is hardware or software related but I did try with different microphones and I get the same result. My soundcard is integrated into my mainboard which is an MSI K87 Neo2 Motherboard. I believe I'm using Realtek AC97 Audio drivers but am not sure.

I've had this problem but not as bad as your mp3 you posted.

Have you tried turning off your speakers when recording?

I just tried it without any luck - Problem remains  :-/

This might sound stupid but it worked for my mate a while back, try taking out your microphone and blow in to the socket. It jsut clears out all the dust, doesnt work for everyone but does for some.
Also what softwre are you recording with?! Does it do with other applications that can record sound?!

Since I've tried with different microphones and the problem remains, the blow in socket thing won't work, heh.

I'm using GoldWave to record, but I do have the same problem with the windows sound recorder under the start menu.

Would reinstalling the sound drivers help me?
