Scrolling problem
« on: December 19, 2006, 11:34:06 AM »
Hello all.  A new problem (at least to me) has arisen. When I scroll a page left/right, up/down, it sort of "bounces" around. Or maybe I should say, "it sort of wiggles when I scroll." Doesn't matter if I use the mouse wheel or the arrows. I'm using WinXP Sp2. All critical updates done. Have installed and am using Clear Type. This started after downloading a new edition of Win. (I had a pirated edition. They closed up shop and left town.)  >:(  Any clues you can give me would be appreciated.

You downloaded a new version of Windows?
Does that mean this one is pirated as well?
Is this XP Pro by any chance?

[smiley=huh.gif]  No, this is NOT a pirated version. Yes, it is Win XP Pro SP2.

OK, just as long as we cleared that up.
Does this scrolling problem happen with every program, or just certain ones?

I'm just curious where you downloaded a LEGAL copy of Windows. I don't recall Microsoft authorizing that ever. Please post a link to that site for my own interest.

Some more details about the system would be helpful for resolution of this problem.

That's what I thought, that's why I asked if it was legal.
I figured they meant they downloaded it onto the hard disk, i.e. installed it, from a disk.
I'd like to see a link too if it was downloaded from the internet and is legal.

The truth is that it is NOT legal and that is why Microsoft uses holograms on their CD's, etc. The whole point is to stop piracy of their products.

Nevertheless, I am very interested in the source. Some past posters have done similar things only to find out they had lost some hard-earned cash and had no recourse with the black market sellers and NO support from Microsoft.

I hate to be the one to beat a dead horse...

If you receive emails or come across sites that offer OEM software at unbelievable prices, then it's probably too good to be true.

When will people learn???

Buy a legitimate version and do a clean install...
