windows media player - no video

I am trying to play DVD movies on my HP laptop with windows xp using windows media player 11. I am able to hear audio but get no video. any suggestions??

    garydtd..... Is this something that has just started ?
    Would the same DVD s play when using WMP 10?

    You might want to try VLC media player and see if it will play the dvd ....

    I downloaded VLP & that worked.  Thanks alot for the suggestion.
