DVD Problem-anyone speak----chinese !!!!!!!!

Hi to all and  HAPPY NEW year year!
 My lovly wife is chinese and For X-mas I got her a NEW PUTER!!!
 ADM 4200 CPU
MSI MAIN BOARD-k9vgm-vmicro -atx
 dvd  lite on+/-R/RW
 1Gb RAM
230Gb HDrive
  This thing has a chinese language version of win-xp -pro!
So Im not much help to her -
Problem =will play CDs and VCDs  put when you run a DVD it spits back-your computer doent install DVD decode--This thing worked fine then this problem poped up??
Even if you dont speak chinese Ill take any and all Replies !
  she copied a music DVD to the HD It wont play off the hard drive --That tells me its not a dvd player hardware problem
MY Guess---Windows Media player -Not config for DVDs / Or a settings problem --Again if I could read chinese and study the problem Maby I could have better luck

Do you have decoder software installed in ANY language - WinDVD, PowerDVD, etc.?

NO-----No way to get to english!
     Ill have to set down with her and piece By piece translate  everything !
  At the worst I can ==reload the whole thing !  I  still hope someone who speakes chinese can help-! Shes a professor So she should be smart enought to figure this thing out hahahahah!

So this computer has NEVER played a DVD correctly? If that is so, then you either need a commercial product like the two mentioned prviously, or download the free VLC player and The Codecs (if that doesn't resolve it) from the Multimedia Section in the Essential Software FAQ:

I think Wangming speaks Chinese, but he surely doesn't speak English.

GRRrrrrrrrr I hear whirring noises over on the other side of the room  Shes doing something ----AArrrrgggggg=Oh just the photo scanner runing ----she plays with everything  no wonder its always acting up!
