Trying to capture video with closed captioning.
« on: January 03, 2007, 02:24:31 AM »
[size=14]I've been taping some programs off the air and transferring them to DVD via a Conexant 2388x Video Capture card.  One of the characters is a very soft-spoken man, and he's very difficult to understand from the audio track.  The VHS tape contains the closed captioning, so I can figure out what he's saying by looking at the CC.

However, when I transfer the video to my HD for editing out the commercials, the CC disappears.  I looked all throughout Ulead DVD Movie Factory software that came with my capture card, but I find nothing about capturing CC.

Any ideas?

Only appliances containing closed caption decoders (many TVs, eg) can display closed captions.  If your capture card doesn't understand CC, you can't do anything about that, I'm afraid.
Only able to visit the forums sporadically, sorry.
