There are so many no body can keep track of them all. There are many people that take a step further and discover their own programming languages.
Computers are the future, not us. Learn everything you can about them while you still can, soon they will be learning about us... Every bit of advice that I give you is best guess, it is your choice whether or not you listen to it.

Programming languages are not discovered, they are created.

Discover means that it was pre-existing. Program languages don't exist before they are created/invented.

      Thanks for the feedback  ;)

I also was wondering if it was possible for someone to actually know how to program in binary ??
      Thanks

How do you think they did the first computers?

Assembly language, which you can perhaps think of as the "original" language is simply where each binary code is given an English keyword. For example (just making this up) the binary 01101001 could be the code for add, so in Assembly writing "ADD" would be the same as inputting that binary sequence into the computer.. of course it would just be a lot easier to understand.

I see you are still misinterpreting my comment when I said discover. That is what I WAS really relating to. And yes it is a discovery on their part and the word "discover" does not always mean that something was pre-existing and found, there are many definitions. ::)

No you are just wrong. Discover = pre-existing. Invent = not pre-existing. I have found no dictionary entries to the countary. Please feel free to disprove me. And most dictionaries list 3 definitions maximum.

Okay, in science terms, when they use "discovery and breakthrough in new technology", does that mean that the technology was pre-existing.

It depends on the technology ;) And often people use the wrong word invent/discover, especially in the media. So not bonus points for your comeback ;D

There is some gray area, for example is Quantum Mechanics or Mathematics invented or discovered?

But fortunately in the case of programming languages, they are always invented and not discovered. Well if you discover one, someone before hand had to make it first. Case closed. 8-)

Fine, that's good you finally stopped debating. It was just a figure of speech and I know you understood what I was saying, so why did you question me? :) You never did say anything about my other comment when I said "It was a discovery on their part", is it not a discovery on their part?
