Win XP will not retain video driver after reboot
« on: January 08, 2007, 03:50:02 PM »
I have a new EVGA 7300GT 512mb PCI-E video card and Win XP will not retain video driver after the required reboot. I have tried a different card and its driver but upon reboot it reverts to XP's VGA driver. Have uninstalled each card, cleaned the registry and reinstalled with same result. Have scanned for viruses etc, Help!!

Uninstall all video drivers. shutdown, reboot when windows boots back
re-install the proper drivers.

Are you sure you have the correct drivers?

you can always download Everset and run it to make sure.

Did you disable any onboard video in the BIOS?

Problem unresolved. Ran Everest but no apparent problems. Suggestions?

Try that card in another machine, if possible, to see where the problem is.
