word 2002 - making me crazy

can anyone help me tame word 2002? lots of crazy things keep happening:

if i select a line of text, and apply bold formatting, all the text in the page is suddenly bold. also, when i apply a style, it isn't the style it says it is - it looks completely different!

can anyone help?

Firstly, try a repair installation of Office.

If you're going to buy a new Version of WORD dont be going 2002 because Office 2007 will be out quite shortly or might already be out!
