How do I remove left overs of AVG Security Prog?
« on: January 14, 2007, 01:33:35 PM »
Hi, I need help. I'm working on Windows 98. I uninstalled AVG 7.1 security Program so that I could install Panda Platinum, but when loading Panda, it stops and says AVG is still there and in conflict. I've run searches for AVG and carried out a manual check, but I can't see anything that has a hint of AVG. How can I cleanse any remains of the AVG Program?

CCleaner might be the solution.  Download it from http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4191.  Run the Windows and Applications scans and remove the stuff it finds.  Then, run the Issues scan, back up your Registry as prompted, and then tell CCleaner to fix the issues it found.

Try CCleaner and see if that helps.

Try using CCleaner to clean your system.
If you clean the registry, under "Issues", make a backup when prompted.
Set up CCleaner as described here before using it.
Hope this helps.

Amazing!  Three of us posted at the same time, 3:36 p.m. and we all suggested CCleaner.  What's the probability of that happening?  LOL

We suggested CCleaner because it's the solution that seems to solve this kind of problem, but the chances of us all suggesting it at the same time and all 3 of us suggesting doing the same things with it, and 2 of us suggesting the same guide to set it up before use, have to be quite small.
How very odd.

But of course.
Why else would we be here?
