A free equivalent to ClearType for Windows 2000
« on: January 18, 2007, 06:39:40 PM »
As an experiment I installed Windows 2000 Pro on my old hard drive, and I really like it. I'm thinking of installing it on my main drive, but the only problem i have with it is the lack of ClearType. The built in font-smoothing doesn't do me any good. Is there a free equivalent to ClearType for Windows 2k? Thanks!

    Do you really need it?
BTW, welcome to W2K, it's nice to see people upgrading from XP. ;D

Well I like cleartype because I have an LCD (it's a laptop)... but I guess I can live without it it'll just take some getting used to lol. I'm not planning switching to 2K until next month sometime, so maybe i'll just turn it off in XP for a while and try to get used to it. thanks!
