I'm running an HP zv 6100 with WIN XP Home that I purchased a little over a year ago. I have downloaded and tried to install IE7 on several diffrent occations, each downloaded from the Microsoft web site. Each time I install the program and restart windows the following error comes up:
Error- EabServr.exe- Entry point not found
The entry point-Getprocessimagefilenamew could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL
Then each time I click on the IE7 icon on my desktop it creates another IE shortcut on the desktop, but fails to open the program.
I've had to uninstall IE7 each time. I've even deleted the downloaded file and re-downloaded it thinking it was corrupt, to no avail.
I've done an extensive search for information with regard to this issue, but I continue to get directed to sites that want to check and repair my registry. Although I know the issue is going to be in there somewhere none of the scans have found a problem in the DLL files (I even used the free version of Registry Mechanic).
I'm not convinced that purchasing one of there programs is going to fix my problem, but at this point I'm willing to try if it's a plausable fix.
I'm not familiar enough with what a DLL file is or what it does to know how to fix it so any information will be appreciated.
