Updating BIOS
« on: February 02, 2007, 11:45:27 AM »
I'm trying to update BIOS but no luck, I have Asus P5P800S MB but the utility that should do that keeps crashing when I load the update file, also I have no floppydisk drive to update the BIOS by booting from it, I tried winflash but everytime I run it I get windows error message and close it, is it possible to creat bootable CD instead of bootable floppydisk? if not then any suggestions would be appreciated.

With all of the other issues you have posted about you may be creating a permanent problem.  ;)

If it's not causing problems as it is, leave the BIOS alone.
As previously stated, flashing the BIOS can cause many more problems than it may solve.
If I were you, I'd give it up, especially as you don't seem to have a real reason to need to update it.

On the other hand, it's not ASUS fault that you don't have a floppy drive is it?  ::)

When people suggest "flash the BIOS" it's usually because they have no clue what to do to correct a problem. You can take that to the bank.
