Vista - opinions?
« on: January 31, 2007, 05:08:25 AM »
This is for those already using Vista, and may be of interest to those interested in it.
Those using it - what do you think of it?
What are the best and worst things about it?
What made you decide to get it?
Anything else you want to share?

ditto "Calum"  for some strange, dumb reason, I really want to buy this and face the incurred wrath which would be expected. I just want something new and the direct X10  sounds awesome.  Looking forward to replys........... [Home Premium] ? :)

DX10 would probably be the only thing that would make me want to upgrade.
However, I don't have a DX10 card, and I have a non-upgradeable mobile card in my laptop, so that's that done.
If I were to go for Vista, it'd be Ultimate, simply because it combines the best bits of Business with the best bits of Home Premium, theoretically providing the best of both worlds.
In reality, it'll probably be three times as bloated and unusable.
I don't see a version of Vista that's right for me.
Like to see some opinions from those already using Vista though.
One more thing - shouldn't the Windows forum subtitle include Vista now?
    At the minute it mentions

Microsoft Windows 3.x, 9x, ME, 2000, XP, and 2003 discussions and help.
Just thought I should mention it, maybe the admin will sort it out?

I don't use it but i have an vista inspirat for the styling.
I'd say it looks nice. The object dock is nice too.
I say screw vista and get the inspirat. i'm using an old version so i'll bet it gets better.
BTW: less resource intensive with XP and a skinner.

Yeah...we could call it "Vista Troubles "    just like the IE sub-forum should now read IE7 Troubles....

Well not necessarily because some people will still use previos versions of IE, but I agree the admin should add Vista to the Windows board.
